About Society Glo
Welcome to Society Glo — Your Community, Connected.
Society Glo is a free, location-based mobile bulletin board designed to ensure that every community member has equal access to vital information and resources. No login or registration is required to use the app — because access to opportunity should be immediate and inclusive.
The app is organized into three main categories:
-
Resources — City, county, and nonprofit support services aimed at improving quality of life and promoting community health.
-
Jobs — Local employment opportunities, as well as training and education resources to help individuals grow their skills and advance their careers.
-
Civics — Learn about your elected officials and the work they’re doing on your behalf.
At a time when trust in institutions is low, we believe communication is the first step toward change. Society Glo offers a unique platform where elected officials and community leaders can share their goals, initiatives, and updates directly with the people they serve — without distractions, comments, or noise.
Only verified officials, community organizers, and business leaders are authorized to post on Society Glo. This ensures the information you receive is credible, constructive, and actionable.
Our mission is to collaborate with nonprofits, local governments, businesses, and organizations across the U.S. to build stronger, more informed communities.
It’s time to Glo Up.
Join us in creating a more connected society — one post at a time.

About the Founder, Kevin Linney
My name is Kevin Linney and I am the founder of the Society Glo app. I grew up in a diverse middle class neighborhood in Sacramento, Ca. I attended college at the University of Georgia and majored in general business and psychology. After college I moved back to California where I currently live and work in the pharmaceutical industry. I also own the sayeYO app, which is a multimedia storage, sharing, communication, and networking app for people in the music and entertainment industry. All of my accomplishments happened because I had access to resources and opportunities that could help me achieve my goals.
Unfortunately, life does not function through the lens of fairness or equality. Many in our communities do not have access to the same support or resources that I did when I was growing up. The United States is one of the wealthiest nations in the world but yet and still, we have many of our fellow citizens living in poverty and struggling to meet their basic needs. I don't subscribe to the "Pack Animal" mentality because as humans we should be evolved in our thinking and understand that problems need people who are willing to create solutions and not just blame.
Whether Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative, Rich or Poor, we all live in the US and in order to make it a better place we need to come up with actionable ideas that can help improve our low income and poverty stricken neighborhoods.
The goal of the Society Glo app is to build engagement between community, politics, and business. I will personally admit, that up until recently, I did not vote in any local, regional, or national election. Like most people in my community, I never believed that any elected official truly represented my interest. I still don’t know what the job description entails for a city council member, mayor, senator, assembly member, or congress person. If you were to ask most people in your community to tell you what does your congress person, governor, or state senator do for your community; 9 times out of 10 you would get a blank stare and a shoulder shrug. Especially if you are asking people of color or young people. There is a reason certain demographics are less likely to vote and it is because most don’t feel like their needs are being represented.
My biggest issue is the anonymity of our elected officials. When it is time for an election, we hear from the candidates around the clock. Once they get elected they all seem to disappear until the next election. I want to change how our elected officials interact with their constituents. Outside of town halls and city or county meetings, I would like to be able to hear from my elected representatives.
The same goes for the people who are in business leadership positions. These businesses want us to spend our dollars on their products or services but we don’t know what their corporate values are and whether or not they actually care about the communities that support their business. The Society Glo app was created to highlight the business leaders and politicians that are working hard to move our society forward.
Hopefully if you are reading this, you will get inspired to join the fight for a better society. I believe we are missing the mark by not fully utilizing our current mobile application technology for community enrichment. It is time to help everybody in society “Glo Up!”
